Studio of Graphic Design and Visual Communication

Studio of Graphic Design and Visual Communication

Students attending this studio are acquainting themselves with the many facets of graphical design, growing into self-reliant, creative individuals capable of skillfully reacting to customer requirements, communicating within the available scope and catering for all aspects of the task at hand in minute detail. All study assignments are discussed with utmost care, promoting original ideas, new views and unusual solutions. All joint activities, be it large-scale sign systems, safety or social posters promoting our country, complex book or magazine projects or the design of a consistent visual style for cultural events, civil authorities and territorial bodies, are addressed with profound knowledge and responsibility.

Students attending courses at the studio can profit from individual and personal approach, being part of a group of skilled and educated professionals. The cornerstones of the studies at the studio are common discussions about joint assignments, varying from real tasks to free topics and enabling one to find their own assets, find inspiration in other creative activities, supporting imagination, joyful creativity, and unbridled exhibition, bringing, at the same time, an invigorating breath of fresh air into the area of graphical design.

The studio is a common space suitable for true teamwork, a place where generation movements and life-long friendships are born. The studies include thematic excursions into the capitals of the world of graphics. The studio offers regular scholarships for students of architecture, design and free subjects at the AAAD and other universities, boasting the most foreign students from the Socrates and Erasmus programmes.

In addition, the studio often invites external experts to take up the reins of specific tasks end to end.

From 1999, the studio was led by Zdeněk Ziegler and Tomáš Machek, his assistant who, for the first two years, worked under the guidance of Rostislav Vaněk. Later, Marius Corradini joined the ranks of the studio as the assistant.
